I made it

At times I’ve told myself “I’ve got this”,

sometimes I didn’t have it, but I went.

At times I’ve had to push harder,

sometimes the pushing hurt, but that wound healed.

At times I’ve had to endure longer,

sometimes I gave in, but I ended up understanding. 

At times I’ve had to fight someone who was stronger,

sometimes I lost a fight, but I gained patience.

Now I have this in me, where everything is protected by my shield I wear proudly.

You might be able to break my shield, but not my will.
